Aru is the perfect destination to take a break form the pollution, dust and stress of city life at an altitude of 2708 metres situated 15-km from Pahalgam, Chandanwari is the starting point of the Amarnath Yatra, which takes place every year in the month of Sawan (Rain). It is famous for snow sledging on a snow bridge. At Chandanwari, the Sheeshnag river is captivating with its sheer force and clear waters. You can get an opportunity to do sledge riding and get up to some heights, upto the fifth point which is also a route that yatris take to reach the Amaranth Cave. Day 3: Pahalgam - Verinag - Pahalgam
One of the largest springs in India, Verinag, which lies in the Kothar district, is 78 km south-east of Srinagar (via Anantnag), and is easily accessible through a by pass from the Jammu – Srinagar high way. Verinag is named after Nila Nag, the son of the wise saint, Kashyap Rishi, who reclaimed the Kashmir valley, the original shape of this spring was in the circular form of a kund. In 1620, the Emperor Jahangir had the shape changed into the traditional Mughal octagonal. The spring, which has a circumference of 80m in enclosed today by a brick wall under which are vaults. These lake – like waters have a limpid clarity in which the verdant surroundings of pine trees are mirrored. Fish swim in the cool depths and this picturesque setting that so captivated the Mughal emperors has lost none of its pastoral charm over the centuries. The lawns around the spring are a beautifully manicured green, and banks of massed flowers add splashes of colour to this symphony of greens and browns. A Shaivite shrine just outside the complex draws pilgrims every year, who come for a ritual dip in the spring of the first day of the year according to the lunar Hindu calendar. Some 2 km away is Veravurthur, supposed to be the source of the Jhelum. The waters of the many nearby springs, called collectively, Sapta Rishi, have their confluence at Sangam, where people bathe on festival days. Day 4: Pahalgam - Kokarnag - Achabal - Pahalgam
After breakfast proceed for Kokarnag,situated at a height of 2,020 m, is approximately 70 km from the district of Srinagar. Blooming gardens surround this spring, which bubbles at seven places at the foot of the forested mountain. The water of Kokernag in Kashmir is believed to have medicinal and digestive properties. And because of these properties only, the spring is also known as Papashudan Nag or the sin-cleansing spring. There is also a botanical garden and a rose garden near Kokernag, overflowing with fragrances of flowers and shrubs. Kokarnag is also the largest fresh water spring of the Kashmir valley. The word Kokernag is a combination of the two words, Koker meaning 'fowl' and Nag meaning 'serpent'. Kokernag is a collection of many small springs and collectively, they all look like the claw foot of a Koker (cock). And the flowing stream resembles a moving serpent. Hence, the name "Kokernag". The spring of Kokernag comprise of 300 canals, 129 canals for garden purposes and 171 canals for forest area. Achabal is a notified area committee town of Anantnag District in Jammu and Kashmir State of India. Perched at 33.68°N 75.23°E, Achabal has an elevation of 6350 feet above sea level. The town is about 67 kilometres south of Srinagar town. Achabal Town has been one of the most visited places in Jammu and Kashmir State for just one reason – the Achabal Bagh or Achabal Mughal Garden - which was built in the 16th Century and is at its best even today. Achabal town which is now was once a summer resort of the Mughal Empress Nur Jahan – wife of Mughal Emperor Jahangir. Prior to the Achabal Garden, this town area was an Orchard Garden. It is curiosity that drives thousands of tourists to this town each year to see how a fragile thing such as a garden could survive so many centuries. The Achabal spring was mentioned in the ‘Nilmat Purana’ – the ancient Hindu texts – as ‘Achapal Nag’.Return back to Pahalgam and night stay.

It's one of the most carefully designed of the Kashmir gardens with water from a copious springs flowing in the garden in three stone lined canals, over three terraces and three cascades, with several fountains in the main canal.There are three pavilions on the upper terrace, shaded by Chinar Trees. Situated at a height of 2,020 m, Kokernag is approximately 70 km from the district of Srinagar. Blooming gardens surround this spring, which bubbles at seven places at the foot of the forested mountain. The water of Kokernag in Kashmir is believed to have medicinal and digestive properties. And because of these properties only, the spring is also known as Papashudan Nag or the sin-cleansing spring. There is also a botanical garden and a rose garden near Kokernag, overflowing with fragrances of flowers and shrubs.Kokarnag is also the largest fresh water spring of the Kashmir valley. The word Kokernag is a combination of the two words, Koker meaning 'fowl' and Nag meaning 'serpent'. Kokernag is a collection of many small springs and collectively, they all look like the claw foot of a Koker (cock). And the flowing stream resembles a moving serpent. Hence, the name "Kokernag".
